Mauricio Pochettino has pulled off a handful of famous upsets over Pep Guardiola over the years, and with Chelsea showing signs of progress, today's clash is poised very nicely indeed.

Here’s what you need to know:

What: Premier League

Who: Manchester City vs. Chelsea

When: Sunday, Nov.12, 2023

Time: 11:30 a.m.

Where: Stamford Bridge

TV: USA Network

Chelsea have now won five of their last seven games, a run of form that suggests Pochettino’s expensively assembled collection of bright young things might finally be beginning to gel.

The 4-1 victory over nine-man Tottenham on Monday rather flattered the Blues, but despite the naysayers – some are calling it the worst hat-trick ever scored – Nicolas Jackson’s triple should do his confidence the world of good.

Guardiola has been making a lot of noise about injuries to the likes of Kevin de Bruyne and John Stones, but with two or three world-class players available to him at pretty much every position, Man City will likely survive this particular crisis.

Erling Haaland has been off-color by his standards but has still netted 15 goals in 16 games, including two in midweek against – perhaps ominously – Young Boys, while summer signing Jeremy Doku has already established himself as one of the most destructive players in the league.

Chelsea will look for its third straight win Sunday morning when the Spurs play Manchester City in a Premier League match. After a thrilling 4-1 win over Tottenham last week, Chelsea will look to keep the momentum going.

Man. City, meanwhile, has won its last three league matches and looks to get another three points in the standings.

By then there was little doubt that City was on course for a 23rd straight home win in all competitions in a game that saw Young Boys reduced to 10 men when Sandro Lauper was sent off for high foot on City substitute Nathan Ake in the 53rd.

After Matheus Nunes was brought down in the area by Lauper in the first half, Haaland stepped up and sent goalkeeper Anthony Racioppi the wrong way by firing into the bottom left hand corner.

On Foden’s goal, the forward received a pass from Jack Grealish on the right and then showed quick feet to beat Ulisses Garcia inside the area. He still had a tight angle to shoot from, but swept the ball past Racioppi and into the far corner.

The Blues ran out 4-1 winners to end rivals Spurs' unbeaten run in a truly chaotic all-London clash on Monday night, but arguably still flattered to deceive for large periods against nine men before Nicolas Jackson's hat-trick finally settled the game in injury time.

City will have been licking their lips at Chelsea's struggles as they plot a seventh consecutive win over them across all competitions, having hit struggling Bournemouth for six before sealing their place in the Champions League knockout stages with two games to spare against Young Boys BSC on Tuesday.

Chelsea are still nursing one of the longest injury lists in the league, but will hope to have Armando Broja to call upon this weekend. Even so, Jackson will have earned the right to keep his place after his treble against Spurs.

Levi Colwill was withdrawn at half-time against Tottenham but that was a tactical decision and he should play, while Mykhailo Mudryk is fit again should Mauricio Pochettino opt to switch up his forward line.

Ben Chilwell, Romeo Lavia, Wesley Fofana, Trevoh Chalobah and Carney Chukwuemeka are all still out, while Christopher Nkunku is not expected to return just yet.

Manchester City have been hit by another injury to John Stones, who will miss the game. Manuel Akanji, however, will be fit after training despite pulling up in the warm-up on Tuesday.

The good news is that Erling Haaland has shaken off his ankle knock, and came roaring back in midweek with two goals, the second a rocket, to confirm City's place in the Champions League knockout stages. Sergio Gomez and Kevin De Bruyne are still out.

While Tottenham nearly punished Chelsea with nine men, and an absurdly high defensive line, few will bet against Manchester City picking the Blues off in London.

Pep Guardiola's side have enjoyed an excellent run of five straight wins across all competitions since returning from the October international break. On Tuesday, they cruised past Swiss side BSC Young Boys in the Champions League, Erling Haaland's brace and a goal from Phil Foden handing them a 3-0 victory.

Having seen Tottenham Hotspur lose 2-1 at Wolves on Saturday, City held on to top spot overnight despite Arsenal's 3-1 win at home to Burnley. The Blues are currently ahead on goal difference but can go three points clear with a win in the capital.

City will be without John Stones for this afternoon's game after the defender suffered a recurrence of a muscle injury in the midweek win over Young Boys. But Manuel Akanji, who missed the European tie, is back fit and available.
